Concentration of Excretory Products, Counter Current Multiplier, Hormonal Control, FSC Biology Book2
In this video lecture Concentration of Excretory Products is explained. Concentration of Excretory Products is determined by two factors either counter current multiplier or hormonal control. In counter current mechanism filtrate flow in opposite directions in two limbs of loop of Henle helps to reabsorb and retain maximum of water out of nephron into interstitial fluid and then into blood. Aldosterone hormone is secreted by adrenal cortex which promotes reabsorption of sodium ions from ascending limb of loop of Henle. The anti diuretic hormone ADH also called as vasopressin promotes reabsorption of water from collecting tubules.
