4.17: Oxidation of Reducing Agents by Nitric Acid – Oxy Acids of Nitrogen (8) Copy
This video lecture from Group VA and Group VIA Elements (F.Sc. second year Chemistry) covers the oxidation reactions of nitric acid with reducing agents. Ferrous sulfate oxidizes into ferric sulfate, hydrogen sulfide gas into silfur and hydrogen iodide into solid iodine upon reaction with nitric acid. The nitric acid itself reduces to nitric oxide.
