This video lecture from Fundamental Principles of Organic Chemistry (F.Sc. second year Chemistry) covers sp2 mode of hybridization in hydrocarbons particularly where one s orbital and two p orbitals hybridize to form 3 sp2 degenerate hybrid orbitals with a trigonal planar geometry. Pi Bond is formed between the un-hybridized orbitals with an overlap perpendicular to the line joining the two nuclei. Pi bond is weaker than sigma bond.
